The beautiful belly!

After 12 hours, I'm... only 4 centimeters???

Many an hour was spent in the tub.

18 hours and 7 centimeters later...

Relying on support from Billy and our doula, Anita

Our midwife Nancy, who's had 5 children, can see the lighter side of it all.

And, we await July 30th...

Birth giving is some darned hard work, no matter what anyone says!!!!

Happy birthday! I always think the mom should get presents, too. I probably just say that because two of mine have birthdays next week...

Happy birthday, Mommy! You deserve the first card. All moms do.

So glad Miranda has been perking up every day since that one.

Wow Maria, this pictures are incredible! So powerful and sacred--BEAUTIFUL!!! Isn't it a miracle to look at our little girls all running around and huge now? I wish we could help celebrate Miranda's big day--I'll look for pictures soon! :) Love to you, Mama. <3 Caren

Hey Maria, give the Wunchie a great big hug and kiss for me. And tell her that Dan says hello! I miss her!

Happy Bday for you all. Love the photos...someday Miranda will cherish those. The birthing process is one of those defining experiences...nothing makes you more aware of the presence of God.

Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

Happy Birthday Miranda. I don't think I realized that she took 2 days to be born. Just like the Queen. That's all right, we can hold it over their heads later. (I spent 30 hours in labor with you . . .)Actually, I hope I don't do that. But it's tempting.

As I've been reading the past few posts, I've been marveling at how grown up Miranda has become! How do they get so much older so fast, and yet we stay exactly the same age?!
